The Bristol Workforce Investment Board, in conjunction with the Brockton Area Workforce Investment Board, the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board and the South Shore Workforce Development Board, is opening a public comment period for the Southeast Region WIOA Regional Planning Labor Market Blueprint.

This initiative has brought together workforce, education, and economic development leaders to close skill gaps in regions across Massachusetts. The regional teams are charged with identifying priority sectors, occupations, and career pathways in their regions, and working together to create a Labor Market Blueprint that will identify strategies and action steps to address regional priorities.

Regional planning under the Governor’s Workforce Skills Cabinet (WSC) and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), encompasses 56 communities in Southeastern Massachusetts including the cities of Attleboro, Brockton, Fall River, New Bedford, Quincy and Taunton.

The draft Southeast Labor Market Blueprint is available for download on this page and is also available for review and comment by contacting Thomas Perreira, (508) 675-1165. The public comment period will be open from February 6, 2018 through the close of business (4:30 PM) on March 8, 2018.
